Phone di Watch The Med è stato istituito nell’ottobre del 2014 da reti
di attivisti e rappresentanti della società civile in Europa e
NordAfrica. Il progetto ha creato una linea telefonica diretta e
autorganizzata per rifugiati in difficoltà nelle acque del Mar
Mediterraneo. Offre ai rifugiati su imbarcazioni in difficoltà
una seconda possibilità di diffondere il loro SOS. Il telefono di
allarme documenta e mobilita in tempo reale. Così facendo, viene
esercitata pressione ad effettuare salvataggi ogni volta che sia
possibile e ci si oppone ai respingimenti e altre forme di violazioni
dei diritti umani dei rifugiati.
Dunque, Alarm Phone non è un numero per il salvataggio, ma un numero di allarme a supporto delle operazioni di salvataggio.
The Watch The Med Alarm Phone was started in October 2014 by activist
networks and civil society actors in Europe and Northern Africa. The
project set up a self-organized hotline for refugees in distress in the
Mediterranean Sea.
It offers the affected boat-people a second option to make their SOS
noticeable. The alarm phone documents and mobilises in real-time. In
this way, pressure to rescue is built-up, wherever possible and push-
backs and other forms of human rights violations of refugees and
migrants at sea can be opposed.
Thus, the Alarm Phone is not a rescue number, but an alarm number to support rescue operations. read more/continua...
